The Stylish Days Of Old

history-of-womens-fashion-1900-to-1919-s

I love to look back in history to see the styles and history of women’s fashion, especially during the early 1900’s!

Women wore tailored jackets, long skirts, and high-heeled ankle boots.

In the early 1900’s if you were “well to do” you would make trips to Paris, France to join other women as far away as New York, Toronto and other cities in the world.  Here you would find all the latest and stylish fashions.

Some women would gather together to browse through copies of the latest fashion  works of designers.  Can you imagine wearing hats such as these?

If you were going out to do some shopping, this is the outfit that would be appropriate for the day!

How interesting it is to look back in time!  I hope you enjoyed the quick trip as much as I did!!

I actually find vintage clothing really beautiful.
It has this timeless quality to it, and I’m not sure if I’m imagining that or not.
Of course it seems very out of place in the modern day, but whenever I see people wearing clothing from another era – it’s always fascinating to see how everyone reacts to it.
You get a few who scoff.
    Some who roll their eyes.
    Some who smile.
A person or two who whisper excitedly.
And others who enthusiastically strike a conversation.
    It’s pretty amazing

Informative post Pat. I wonder how many women today would be able to hustle in their bustle and still appear stylishly elegant? Just an innocent reflection. Thanks for sharing. :)In those days gentlemen were still gentlemen spats and all.
