Oh packing that suitcase in an orderly fashion for travel!!! This is a job that I tend to put off until it is absolutely necessary before heading out on a trip.
Now I realize there is an art to doing this packing. Intelligent tips, instructions from several relatives and friends plus articles from the internet have not made this chore any easier for me.
No matter how much I read or hear from well intended advisors, the task in the heat of the moment returns to one of frustration and possibly panic.
I have horrible memories of very late hours before my travel day, of sorting and arranging clothing, shoes, plus any essential items I might need during the precious days away on a wanted and anticipated holiday.
A sincerely helpful cousin tried to show me how she would pack her case by rolling each item. This practise allowed her the benefit of having quite a lot of space in that case for most things she wanted to bring with her. I tried this and it did not work for me!
Of course there is always the idea; “if I forget something, I will just buy it”! Now this is a wonderful thought, but, what if you are in a situation where you don’t have transportation or there are no stores close by?
There is always the need for something warm, something light, something fancy, something casual, oh my, oh my!!! My head is spinning! The art of packing should not be this difficult!!
Should I go on this trip? Wait a minute!! I do need to go on this trip and it will be perfect! It is so needed to get away and relax!! Why am I stressing so much about what I bring in my suitcase?
Turn, walk away from the dreaded suitcase; take a breath and a break! Come back in an hour to start again! It can be done! Can’t it??
Yea, it can be done! It is done!! Hurrah!! On my way. Success!! Relatives here I come!!!

Packing only a toothbrush and a smile is all many folks require. Remember we always have American Express to get us through the difficult times. Great post. Thanks for sharing. 🙂 AHAH!!

Oh, I know this feeling well. Years ago I finally got it got it through my head that the only thing that truly matters are prescription meds. Everything else can be replaced or done without. One time I left my fully packed make-up case sitting on the bathroom counter at home. I survived and it was actually kind of freeing! Great post and visuals.

LOL! Oh no Lola! I can understand that happening. I left a carry on bag home once also sitting on the counter, lol. It’s just all the excitement of travelling I think. Thanks for sharing this Lola and also your kind comments. 🙂
